AHAMA Living: A Quiet Sanctuary on the Turkish Riviera

There are places where time suddenly slows down. Where nature is not just a backdrop, but part of every moment. And where silence doesn’t mean emptiness, but space—for yourself.

AHAMA Living is one of those rare places, and we were fortunate to be among the first to experience it. Invited by the hotel, we attended their soft opening ahead of the official launch. AHAMA will welcome its first guests on June 1, 2025, but it already makes clear where it’s heading: towards a thoughtful blend of design, inner peace, and a modern concept of wellbeing.

Where to Find AHAMA

AHAMA Living is located in southwest Turkey, in the peaceful Günlüklü Bay near the town of Fethiye. A place surrounded by forest and sea, where nature becomes part of your daily rhythm.

The nearest airport is Dalaman, just a 40-minute drive away.

The most convenient connection from Prague is via Istanbul – we flew with Turkish Airlines and decided to enhance the journey with a short stopover in the city. We stayed at the Four Seasons Sultanahmet, which boasts a truly exceptional location for exploring Istanbul in a short time—just steps from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern. A perfect choice if you want to absorb the essence of the city in just 24 hours.

From Istanbul, it's less than an hour’s flight south, followed by a short transfer. And then... silence, olive trees, and beautifully designed bungalows.

Design in Harmony with Nature

AHAMA is not just a hotel—it’s a carefully curated concept grounded in inner balance, respect for nature, and a healthy lifestyle. The accommodation includes 30 cabanas and 29 rooms in a two-story building, thoughtfully spaced to ensure privacy and green views for every guest.

For those seeking complete seclusion, there’s also a private villa with its own pool, a small beach, and generous space for uninterrupted rest.

The architecture and interiors are inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi and the ancient spirit of the Lycia region. Natural materials—wood, stone, linen, jute—alongside neutral tones and open layouts create an atmosphere that breathes serenity.

AHAMA Wellbeing

AHAMA offers a rich selection of activities focused on balance, connection with nature, and deeper care of the body and mind.
At the heart of it all is the Sound Temple—a dedicated space for sound healing sessions, guided meditations, and breathwork. Days often begin or end in peaceful silence and the gentle vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls.

Daily yoga classes are held in an open-air shala nestled in the forest with stunning views of the bay. Creative art therapy workshops provide a gentle space for self-reflection, while mindful walks and nature-based meditations have become beloved rituals.

For those looking for more active experiences, there is a fitness center with a personal trainer, a pickleball court, and a range of water activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, or watsu water therapy in the calm waters of the bay.

Unlike many resorts, AHAMA does not offer a traditional spa. Instead, there is a massage room available for tailored treatments and a small outdoor steam room for post-workout or evening relaxation.

Every day here brings a choice—to move, to pause, or simply to be. And perhaps that’s the rarest luxury of all.

A Place Full of Potential

We’re grateful to have been among the first guests at AHAMA Living. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed—the entire team went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, and we truly appreciated the atmosphere of this unique place.

The hotel itself feels well-conceived, from the architecture and interior details to the range of activities on offer. It’s clear that a strong vision—and a deep sense for design and wellbeing—drives the entire concept.

That said, it's worth noting that not everything ran flawlessly during our soft opening stay. Some organizational hiccups and minor service missteps suggested the team is still finding its rhythm. But that’s to be expected during the early stages—and we’re confident they’ll refine the experience as they grow.

What stood out most, however, was the overall energy of the place. Calm. Intentional. Inspiring.
AHAMA holds great promise to become one of the most distinctive wellbeing hotels in the region.

We’d recommend AHAMA Living to anyone seeking peace, nature, and space to recharge—both physically and mentally.
You don’t need to be a dedicated yogi or into spiritual practices to enjoy it here. You simply need the desire to pause… and let yourself be carried by the quiet.
