Across vineyards to the ocean – with an unexpected ending

Our recent trip with clients to Portugal, carefully prepared and organized down to the last detail, turned into a truly exceptional experience—but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The program showed the country from different angles—from lively and colorful Porto, through the peaceful atmosphere of Comporta, to a moment that no one expected.

In Porto, we immersed ourselves in the unique rhythm of the city. We gave our clients a choice – they could go on a tapas tour, a day trip to the vineyards of the Douro Valley with lunch among the vineyards, or an active cycling trip ending at a renowned fish restaurant. There was also a tour with a local guide, free time to wander the streets, and a visit to the famous Burmester winery with port tasting. Gastronomy was a significant theme throughout the trip, and shared dinners provided an opportunity to share impressions.

From Porto, we moved south to Comporta, an area famous for its pristine beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Here, clients tried their hand at making and painting traditional azulejos tiles and stayed at the designer hotel Quinta da Comporta. The open program allowed everyone to choose their own pace – whether it was relaxing by the pool, walking on the beach, or just taking time for themselves.

Everything went smoothly until the last day, when Portugal and the entire Iberian Peninsula were hit by a widespread power outage. At first, we hoped that the situation would be resolved quickly, but in the end, we had to improvise – securing accommodation for our clients for another two nights and then organizing their transfer and departure from Madrid. Thanks to our contacts and experience, we managed the situation flexibly and without unnecessary stress – proof that good organization is not just about the itinerary, but above all about the ability to handle unexpected situations.

Despite this extraordinary event – or perhaps because of it – we consider the trip to have been very successful. Our clients took home wonderful memories, but also the certainty that they can rely on us even in the most unexpected moments.
