Face to Face with Gorillas and an Unexpected Crisis

The first shared journey under the BPR Getaways concept, experienced by the group as one story.

We set out for Africa. A land with its own rhythm. A place where time is not measured by clocks, but by light, movement, and silence. Every moment has its own identity, and nothing ever repeats.

During this journey, we traveled through several iconic nature reserves and national parks – Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Each of these places carries a different energy, scenery, and pace. Game drives were a key part of the experience, offering direct contact with African wildlife in its most authentic form.

Encounters with the Big Five were literally within reach. Fascinating, raw, indescribable. These are the moments that cannot be fully captured, yet stay with you forever.

The journey also included a visit to a local farm and coffee plantations. Here, the perspective naturally shifts from the wild to the cultivated landscape, and from observer to guest.

For part of the group, the journey continued to Uganda’s Bwindi. A place where encounters with mountain gorillas happen face to face, without distance. An experience unlike any other, deeply etched in memory.

The conclusion of the journey brought moments that were not part of the plan. Events following the presidential elections in Tanzania affected the region, leading to canceled flights and temporary communication outages. It was in these moments that the true value of experience, local connections, and trust became clear. Thanks to excellent cooperation with local partners, all clients were safely transported home via Kenya.
