Hamburg, a fascinating marine metropolis and fashion city with a rich history. The second largest port in Europe, known as the gateway to the world. Although many of us wouldn’t choose to come to Hamburg, the city is definitely worth a visit!

The weekend started at one of the Michelin star restaurants that Hamburg has to offer. The city is truly a dream for lovers of fine dining – there are over 50 Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from. Seafood is an inseparable part of Hamburg. Where else to try them all than at the Sunday fish markets, which have a long history and have been held since 1703. Traditional dishes include Fishbrötchen, Pannfisch and Labskaus, also known as warm tartar.

Afterwards, we walked around the city through the Speicherstadt, the largest warehouse complex in the world with impressive red brick buildings interspersed with water channels. There are also several museums here, such as the Spice Museum, where your olfactory cells will take you to every possible country in the world.

A visit to the architectural gem, the Elbe Philharmonic Hall, was a must for the evening. The modern design and futuristic interior impressed everyone. Listening to the performance of the Elbe Philharmonic Orchestra from different angles was also an experience, as the orchestra members are surrounded by visitors in the middle of the hall.

The next day we visited the Hamburger Kunsthalle, an art museum with a collection of European art from the Middle Ages to contemporary art. In the evening, our footsteps took us to the red-light district of Reeperbahn, known for its lively nightlife. There are silhouettes of the Beatles band members who began their careers in the surrounding bars.
