Morocco, the true jewel of North Africa. A land of endless diversity, Islamic imperial majesty and old European elegance. A country where past, present and future live in a fascinating harmony.

This whole fun trip had an escalating tendency. On the first nights, participants stayed in typical riads or local Berber accommodations. The comfort and luxury gradually escalated to the highest possible levels.

The first stop was the city of colors, Marrakech, where clients satisfied their tastebuds in one of the best restaurants the city has to offer. A huge staircase, art deco motives including palm leaves, marble floors and beamed ceilings evoked a 1920s atmosphere. Clients spent the night in a typical Moroccan riad in the city centre.

The next day, the group headed out on an adventurous journey in Landcruisers to the Atlas Mountains, where they stayed in a guesthouse run by local Berbers. The accommodation is in the mountains and there is no road leading to it, so the group went for a few minutes walk and their luggage was carried by mules. In the afternoon they set off on a several hour trek to the cooling waters at the Sidi Chamharouch Sanctuary, towards Jebel Toubkal, the highest mountain in the Atlas.

After an adventurous night at the Berbers, the group moved from the mountains into the desert to a luxurious campsite. The camp itself offers several activities, but as this was a group of 6 men, riding quad bikes, so called buggies, at sunset was an obvious choice. Dinner was served in the camp’s own restaurant, which combines a variety of culinary methods and local fresh ingredients to provide an exclusive dining experience.

Participants then headed back to Marrakech where they walked through the local souks and Medina. They also visited the world-famous museum dedicated to the life and work of French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, which exceeded their expectations. For the last night, the group checked into a splendid hotel, the most luxurious that Marrakech offers. The hotel itself resembles more of a palace and gives the feeling of visiting an Arabian royal mansion. They finished the evening with a drink in the hotel’s exclusive bar and the next day they headed back home.

Many thanks to Benedikt Renč for the photos.
